Beyond the Bench

  • Practice Pays

Nothing directly impacts progress more than consistent practice. Students who practice consistently, tracked through the Vivid Practice App earn direct discounts on the following month's tuition.

  • Vivid Practice App

We use the Vivid Practice App to provide students with clear assignments they can follow at home, supported with images, audio, and video, ensuring that practice time is always productive, organized, and engaging.

  • Equipment Rentals

You don't need to own a grand piano to begin your journey. We offer keyboard rentals for students just starting out, as well as tablet rentals to ensure everyone can access our practice tools.

More Questions
  • You don't need one for your free trial lesson, as that will take place in the studio. That said, having an instrument at home is essential for making meaningful progress, and we'll talk about options during or after your first lesson. Keys on Avalon has a limited number of keyboards available for rental or rent-to-own for families who need one.

  • No. Tuition is all-inclusive. Printed materials, sheet music, and practice assignments are provided at no additional cost, along with a three-ring binder to keep everything organized. If you'd like to purchase your own copies of the method books used in lessons, titles and edition information are available on request.

  • Yes, in two ways. First, partner lessons are priced at the same monthly rate as a shorter solo lesson. A 45-minute partner lesson costs the same per student as a 30-minute solo, and a 60-minute partner lesson costs the same as a 45-minute solo.

Second, the Practice Pays program rewards consistent practice with up to $15 off the following month's tuition for students who log regular practice sessions in the Vivid Practice app. Details on both are available on the Pricing page.

  • With at least 24 hours notice, we'll make every effort to reschedule within the same week. If no slot is available, a video lesson with updated practice assignments will be provided. For planned absences like vacations that are known before the start of the month, you can request special consideration for a 20% reduction in that month's tuition. Less than 24 hours notice generally does not qualify for a reschedule or makeup.
